Dear Lakeside Neighbor,
Started in 1945, the Oneida Lake Association
(OLA) is a non-profit environmental protection
organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing
our lake’s resources. No other group
accomplishes what the OLA does. Whether you
are a homeowner or a tourist, an angler or
a hunter, a birder or a boater, the OLA speaks
for you – and for Oneida Lake.
A strong membership gives the OLA the power
to accomplish positive things, as we:
Advocate for lakeside homeowners
Keep the lake clean and healthy through
water quality management
Protect the lake’s rich
fish populations through hatchery programs,
cormorant hazing, and banning commercial
angling.
Fight the spread of recreation – limiting
weed growth
Create new aces opportunities and ensure
sound lake management in partnership with
local, state, and national government agencies
Inform the public of important lake issues
through our newsletter, the Oneida Lake
Bulletin
Fight to save habitat for endangered species
like common terns
Oneida Lake is irreplaceable. We need
